When Your Faith Changes and Your People Don't: A 6-Week Journey Through Hebrews 11

When Your Faith Changes and Your People Don't: Six Weeks With the Faith Hall of Fame (Hebrews 11)
Six weeks of study, practice & blessing, for the questioning, the misunderstood, and the ones who love people who don't understand them.

Are you questioning the faith you were handed, and realizing it doesn't look much like Jesus? Maybe it's the look across the Thanksgiving table. The "just praying for you" text. The spouse who loves you and is scared of who you're becoming. This companion walks through Hebrews 11, the chapter many of us grew up calling the Faith Hall of Fame, and finds that almost nobody on that list is who they look like on the surface. They left home without a map. They were let go. They wrestled God in the dark. They built family out of loyalty instead of blood. And Scripture holds their stories with honor.

You are not the first to walk this road, and you are not walking it alone.

This book won't tell you to cut your family off or to go back. It offers ways to think and ways to stay whole, and every week comes back to a God who is holding you, and the people you love, the whole way.

Every week has three movements

  • The Study: an essay on one person from Hebrews 11: what really happened, what the words mean, and why it matters when your faith is changing and your people don't understand. Each ends with practical next steps and a short prayer.
  • The Practice: four ways to think about your relationships, a gentle physical reset, a prayer that talks with God and not just about God, journal prompts with room to write, a personal liturgy, and a breath prayer.
  • The Blessing: a blessing spoken over you. It's the exhale, and all you have to do is receive it.

The six weeks

  1. Not Knowing Where (Abraham, Hebrews 11:8): not knowing is the first shape faith takes.
  2. The River Was Never Empty (Jochebed, Hebrews 11:23): questioning isn't backsliding, and God holds the ones who are scared for you, too.
  3. I Will Not Let You Go (Jacob, Hebrews 11:21): anger at God, the church, and yourself, and the God who stays in the fight.
  4. Love With Terms (Joseph, Hebrews 11:22): loving the people who hurt you while protecting yourself, with a practical guide for the holidays.
  5. Where You Go, I Will Go (Ruth & Naomi, Hebrews 11:13–16): chosen family, and how God's wings often arrive with a face.
  6. A Wider Family (Jesus, Hebrews 12:1–2): surrounded by a cloud of witnesses, with room at the table for you.
